A Typical Day

Here is what daily life is like for a family of 63 children…

6:00AM The wakeup bell rings
6:30AM Breakfast for the secondary school children
7:00AM Breakfast for the primary school children
7:45AM Primary school bus leaves
8:00AM - 12:00PM Remaining children, volunteers, and staff have devotions. Jobs are assigned after devotions, including cleaning up and starting to prepare lunch
12:25PM Primary school children are picked up from school
1:30PM Lunch
2:30PM Back to work for the adults; the older children take turns in the kitchen (washing dishes, mopping the floor, etc.); the younger children play on the playground
4:00PM Children who are 8 years old and older are assigned to clean a specific area of the complex. An "inspector" makes sure the job is done with excellence.
5:00PM - 6:00PM Homework hour--the children are divided into groups and have an adult to help with homework. If they have no homework, they still must study or read.
6:00PM Dinner
7:00PM - 9:00PM More homework, typing, or computer work if needed
7:30PM All the children go to their rooms. Male staff members make sure everything is locked up and that the children are safe and secure.
9:00PM Bedtime for younger children
10:00PM Bedtime for older children

Weekends are for play, group visits and Church.
This Schedule varies during the summer while the children are out of school.
